Chula Vista EOC Update May 22nd

Please note that gatherings still are NOT allowed. “Gathering” is any event or convening that brings together more than one person in a single room or single indoor or outdoor space at the same time, including people in multiple vehicles in one location.

The County will establish a drive-thru testing site at Aquatica beginning next week. Details are still being finalized. This will be the same format as the previous drive-thru location at Oxford St:

  • Appointment only
  • 9 am – 3 pm
  • Approximately 80-90 appointments daily
  • Only the PCR swab test (not antibody)

At today’s County briefing, officials thanked those who are following public health orders, wearing a face covering and maintaining social distance. County officials also shared information about El Prez bar/restaurant in Pacific Beach. The location was shut down for violating health orders by the Public Health Officer. A video was played from Thursday showing a large crowd in the restaurant, people standing in groups, most without masks, and little to no social distancing. The location will be closed pending submittal and approval of a re-opening plan.

Guidelines for in-person religious services will be released by Monday. We also anticipate additional State guidelines pertaining to Stage 3 reopening to be released next week.
