Chula Vista EOC Update May 13th

County officials announced some services/departments to start a phased reopening to include Child Protective Services and Environmental Health. Hours will be limited and appointments required. People are advised to check the website for more information. The County is working to refine the Stay-At-Home directive so that County employees can continue to serve the community. County officials further stated we will move through the re-opening process in phases with a cautious, slow, methodical approach. We must continue to emphasize the importance of these actions which have really helped our region follow these four guidelines/requirements: hygiene (wash your hands), screening (temperature, symptoms), social distancing, and face coverings The County now is allowing “drive through” events such as those for graduation and church services. Public Health guidance includes: No exiting vehicles; No concessions/snack bars; No access to restrooms; those in car must be from same household. In response to a question about the casinos on tribal lands, the Public Health Officer said she does not agree with re-opening casinos on May 18 and will be working with the tribal nations and CDC to discuss the issue. As of May 13, Global cases are 4,312,969 and 294,647 deaths; United States cases are 1,379,756 with 83,150 deaths; California, 71,082 cases with 2,882 deaths. In San Diego County, there are 5,278 cases and 194 deaths. There have been 1,019 residents admitted to the hospital with 316 of those admitted to the ICU.
