Listed below are closures and change of hours for the City of Chula Vista offices and facilities including recreation centers and libraries during the holiday season. All facilities will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Police and Fire: Emergency 9-1-1 response will remain fully operational; police officers and firefighters will maintain normal schedules with the police lobby closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
Animal Care Facility will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. They will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31.
Libraries: All three Chula Vista Public Libraries, Civic Center, South and Otay Ranch Town Center, will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. All branches will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, and all branches will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 26-Dec. 30.
Recreation Centers: All recreation centerswill be closed from December 23 to January 1, however, facilities are available for rental and some have planned events or camps. Salt Creek and Otay Recreation Centers will have adjusted hours. Check the recreation website for details on hours and programs at each facility at www.chulavistaca.gov/recreation.
Public Works Operations: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan.1.
City Parks: City parks will be open during regular hours including Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
City Hall/Civic Center Complex: Administrative offices at 276 Fourth Ave. (City Attorney, City Clerk, City Manager, Human Resources, Housing, Fire Administration, Fire Prevention, Development Services, Engineering, and Finance) will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan.1. The above offices will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
Household Hazardous Waste Facility: Closed Dec. 25 and Jan.1, but will be open Dec. 28.
Trash pick-up: Will be delayed one day on both Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Those having service on Wednesday will have pick up on Thursday and so forth for the week.
